Exmouth Family Portraits - Sunrise Beach Novotel Ningaloo

Headed down to the beach in front of the Novotel Ningaloo for some fun family portraits. You might remember the little girl, Sophie, from way back in 2009 when I did some portraits just of her while all the boys were at school or work. This time I got to enjoy spending time with the whole family and it was a blast!

We tried to be serious (how cute is this family!)

but it was far more fun to be goofy

and pull faces & cool poses

and get thrown around

Once the kids got a little tired, we let them play in the sand & chase seagulls while the grownups went for a more romantic look (these two are sooo much in love and it shows every second!)

Sophie only gave us a minute but was so adorable when she joined her parents who could complain?!

Exmouth Family Portrait Session - sneak peek

I can't think of a better way to end 2010 than with one of my favourite families down at the beach!

A long, long time ago (OK, September 2009, but it seems like a long time ago!) I introduced you to Benjamin - then already an adorable rebel!

I'm here to tell you that he's staying true to his rebel status!

His super-great big brother Dylan did a fantastic job posing and helping with his little brother.

Exmouth Beach Family Portrait Session - sneak peek

I had an excellent time with the Wilson Family for their second portrait session (their first was way before my blog was going!) the other day.

B & Z had a great time burning off some energy running up and down the sand dunes!

California family portraits - sneak peek

At the end of September I made my way to the Bay Area for an excellent family portrait shoot at Muir Beach, north of San Francisco. We had a thick cloud layer hugging the coast that didn't burn off completely and I've decided that I kinda love shooting in those conditions - not very common in Exmouth, Western Australia, so I hope I get to do more photography sessions next time I'm back in the US!

Love this northern California backdrop for portraits!

Bubbles on the beach in Exmouth

I have some friends up from Perth and we headed to the beach for some fun in the sun on the weekend. Their daughter loves bubbles and the breezy conditions helped her spread them far and wide!

Meghan: Senior Portraits - Okoboji & Milford, Iowa

I had an awesome time with Meghan cruising around the Iowa Lakes Area for her senior portraits. Spirit Lake, Okoboji & Milford all offer such great locations - even on a cold and blustery late autumn day!

Meghan was incredible to work with: so gorgeous, up for anything, full of great ideas and super happy & outgoing. I love her! She was a trooper out on the soccer field in her prom dress with the biting cold wind, thankfully the other locations we hit were more protected and much warmer!

Despite the breeze & chill, a gear casualty (said wind tossed my lightstand & flash into a ditch), my hands freezing so bad that I dropped my camera (thank goodness for neck straps!) and a very close call of me tumbling off the steps & over the wall at the church, we had a great time & got some fabulous shots.

I love a little attitude!

Meghan rocks the soccer field so of course we had to have one with her cool red soccer ball.

Meghan's very cool new car...I kinda felt bad as I got to drive it before she did!

Her gorgeous dog was SO VERY EXCITED to be heading out with us it was a real challenge to get her to calm down enough to pose. And, yes, I fell in love with her, too!

Thanks, Meghan, for a great time!

I will be offering more senior portrait sessions in the fall of 2010 for the Iowa Great Lakes Area (Spirit Lake, Milford, Okoboji, Lake Park, Estherville & surrounds) so if you'd like to know more, drop me an email for all the info. I only have a few dates left, so it's never too early to book!

Stephanie - Toddler Portraits

My Grandmother always says that I was a ball of fire when I was little.  After hanging out with Stephanie the other day, I know exactly what she means now (and I should apologise to my parents a little bit, maybe!)  Stephanie is cute as a bug, full of energy (my Grandmother might say "beans") and super independent.

I like that in a kid!

Brooke, Stephanie's mom, put her in a gorgeous little outfit complete with matching headband. We spent a lot of time adjusting said headband :)

The lure of her private playground was too much so we headed out under the shadecloth to play on the slide for a while

She'd slide down so fast it was impossible to get more than one frame each time so Brooke would scoop her up and we'd do it again and again and again

Steph thought I was hilarious

A quick trek down to the beach in front of their house seemed like a good idea, but Stephanie was totally captivated by what was IN the water and not so much in what the silly adults were doing

Even the humpback whales swimming just off the shoreline only held her attention for a moment

before she went back to calling all sea creatures to her!

Baby Faith - Newborn Portraits 21 days old

Amy was the second winner of my Newborn Photo Session. competition I love this family - last year we did a multi-generational portrait session for them and had a great time. I met Faith at the same oval for my first outdoor newborn photo shoot. They had only returned from Perth the day before and Faith was a trooper! I know it's been a while since I teased you with some tootsies so I won't keep you waiting any longer!

It's my binkie!

Ahhh, binkie is better!

Faith's dad gave her this awesome giraffe
