I've just returned to Exmouth after a fabulous two month visit with friends and family back in the USA.
My sister had a gorgeous baby boy, Beau, in December, and I was so happy to get to meet him right away and spend some time (not enough!) with them.
Now I'm back here, enjoying the summer (when I left the US it was -25c!!) and getting everything ready for a wonderful 2012 of photography.
I am again taking bookings for weddings and family, maternity, newborn & baby sessions. Please email me to check on availability for your date and to receive all of my new 2012 package offerings.
The deadlines for any prints you want to send out as gifts or in cards to family and friends for the holidays are this week, so don't delay!
DEADLINE ORDER DATES:
Tuesday 8 November, 2011 (tomorrow!) 5pm - all metallic prints, mounted prints and framed prints
Tuesday 8 November, 2011 (tomorrow!) 5pm - all canvas prints
Thursday 10 November, 2011 - 5pm - all other prints
Also coming up is the deadline for ordering any gifts you would like to receive before Christmas:
DEADLINE FOR PRE-CHRISTMAS DELIVERY - THURSDAY 17 NOVEMBER, 2011*:
Thursday 17 November, 200 - all prints, canvas & other products
Tuesday 15 November, 2011 - all albums must have final approval confirmed
*prints & canvas required for pre-Christmas delivery ordered after these deadlines will incur an additional fee. I will do my best to deliver them in time, but cannot guarantee pre-Christmas delivery if the above dates are missed.
I know it's only October but the holiday season is approaching fast and deadlines for getting our Christmas cards out to loved ones will be here sooner than we think!
I have sessions available most days from Wednesday 19 October through Sunday 7 November, 2011, so we should be able to find a time that works with your schedule. As always, an hour or so prior to sunset (and after sunrise, if you're an early riser!) is the prime time for outdoor & beach sessions so please keep this in mind when you are planning.
I've added a new product for this jolly season: personalized holiday photo cards. These can be customized to not only include your favourite photo from your session but you can create your own greeting, too!

Single cards start from $7/each
Sets of 5 cards start from $30/set ($6.00/card)
Sets of 10 cards start from $50/set ($5.00/card)
Sets of 20 cards start from $80/set ($4.00/card)
Sets of 50 cards start from $175/set ($3.50/card)
Sets of 100 cards start from $250/set ($2.50/card)
All cards include an envelope.
Sets consist of one image & one greeting.
No minimum quantity on single cards.
Each single card can have its own image and greeting.

Hello, My Lovelies! I am back in Exmouth after the most fantastic trip.
I spent excellent time with my family back in the USA for the first time in a year (too long!) and I spent three mind-blowing weeks in Africa.

I didn't have enough time or access to the net while traveling to keep up with posting here, as was my intention. Now that I'm back, I've started looking through my many images and I'll be sharing some of them here over the next few weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on this space!
I hit the ground running once I landed in Exmouth with Mel & Dean's wedding the day after I arrived, lots of orders to process, new client enquiries and fixing the unexpected domain problems that cropped up while I was away. Those problems caused multiple emails from you to bounce back, undelivered.
That has been fixed as of this morning and emails to kristin@kjaphotos.com are working again. If you have sent something to me in the past couple of weeks and have not yet heard from me, please resend your original email and I'll answer within 48 hours.

Due to some fabulous commitments that will take me overseas until September, all orders for prints, canvas, acrylic and other products must be received by tomorrow (along with payment) if you would like to have delivery before 23 July, 2011.
Anything ordered from 14 July - 17 September will be delivered in the last week of September or first week of October.
To ensure your prompt delivery, here are the deadlines:
All print orders for matte & satin finish prints must be received before 4pm Wednesday 13 July, 2011.
All metallic prints, canvas, acrylic and other specialty item orders (excluding albums) must be received before 9am Wednesday 13 July, 2011.

Hello! I am here and have been here, though thanks to enormous web, email and computer problems it hasn't seemed like it for the past few months.
I've felt like these jellyfish - floating along happily thinking everything is fabulous only to get tumbled, swept out to sea and then tossed back up on the sand!
I have been struggling to overcome several severe server problems since March and I think I may finally be in the home stretch. I know I've missed emails and orders from some of you in this crazy time so I hope that I have now contacted you and we have things rolling.

Qantas has officially opened bookings for Perth to Learmonth (the Ningaloo Reef's airport, located about 45kms south of Exmouth and just over 100kms north of Coral Bay)!

Exmouth has just gone on to RED ALERT in preparation for Cyclone Bianca, a category 3.
The police are cruising the town with their sirens on and announcing our new status. Red Alert means everyone needs to take shelter immediately and stay sheltered until the alert passes.
Outside, the wind is picking up a bit but things are relatively calm so far. We are expecting the winds to increase as the afternoon rolls into evening and the rains should start hitting soon, too.

Hopefully this will be a simple storm with little damage or scariness!
Just a quick head's up for all of my wonderful clients who are thinking of ordering prints soon - I must have your orders by the end of this Sunday (19 December) if you want to receive them before the end of the year!
Yes, that is tomorrow so don't put it off :)
If you miss tomorrow's deadline, it will be the second week in January before prints will be delivered due to the shut downs at the labs over the holiday season.

Received a call from the West Australian early this morning about a trio of men who had been rescued after their boat hit an unidentified object late last night. Some are speculating it was a whale, but that hasn't been confirmed according to those I chatted to. The West wanted me to head to the marina to shoot some images for their news story - I agreed and scooted around the office getting camera gear ready.
Totally forgetting that my car battery was dead and I had no way to get there!
But Dave came round to help me and I ended up jumping in one of our dive shop buses for the morning. Whew!

I'm so happy to have this working again and I appreciate the patience you've shown for this little hiccup.
Now I can get back to editing the last couple of weddings, creating knock-out albums for my recent couples and enjoying all the fabulous things about the photography biz that I love instead of fighting with my computer system!
Unfortunately, my switch over to the new machine is not going as smoothly as I had hoped and I cannot yet access my emails. I have high hopes for tomorrow, though!

Just a quick note to let you all know that my trusty laptop died a quick and painless (for it) death yesterday. It was all working fine and then BAM nothing. No warning at all, it just wouldn't start.
I don't edit or store photos from my weddings or portrait sessions on my laptop, so there's no fear on a delay in processing or a loss of images. All of that type of work is done on my desktop and immediately backed up to at least one external drive.
However, my laptop is my connection to everything outside my office. All of my emails are dealt with on it and so I finally come to the point - if you have emailed in the past couple of days, please be patient while I get an alternative email system up and running as I can no longer access your messages.
On the bright side, it looks like my Computer Guy was able to save most of the information on the laptop's hard drive which means that I should be able to get to your recently sent emails in the next 48 hours or so.
If you do not get a response from me by Friday afternoon, PLEASE either resend your email or give me a ring on 0438 433 356. You can, of course, ring me earlier than that if you wish!
Thank you for your patience and cross your fingers for me.
Oh, and if anyone has suggestions for a new, lightweight laptop, it looks like I'm in the market!

I'm very much looking forward to 2010 being a great year. I'm turning 40 in March and so have decided that this year is going to be special (hopefully in a good way!) I have lots of ideas in the works and one of my my goals is to be more active here on the blog so make sure you're checking in often to keep up with how 2010 evolves! Oh yeah, I expect to have lots more giveaways, too.
2010 is shaping up to be another busy and fun year and I can't wait to dig in and get started!

The new television ad for the Novotel Ningaloo is now airing on GWN and everyone is raving about it already. My wedding photography is the main feature of this ad and I'm so excited!
I haven't seen the ad yet as I haven't flicked the tv on much at all over the last few days but I'll be keeping an eye out. I'm also trying to get a copy or a link or something so I can share this awesomeness with those of you who don't get GWN!
